a) Historical hike "Kirchsteig": from the sports area in Gsiesertal Valley – Pichl (1213 m, parking) to the Durnwald restaurant (refreshment possibility), then follow the steep uphill trail no. 7 through the forest and reach the highest point "Sattel" 1722 m. Then, cross the Strada Romana (trail no. 41), but continue on trail no. 7 until reaching the Aufkirchen sanctuary (1295 m) near Toblach.

b) Historical hike "Kirchsteig" circuit: Same ascent as hike a). Once you cross the Römerweg trail, follow trail no. 60A until you reach the intersection with trail no. 91. Continue on this trail until you reach Hotel Stoll, and then return to the parking area.
