From the Gsiesertal Valley – St. Magdalena, Head of the valley 1465 m, follow the signposts number 47/48 over the bridge of the Pidig Stream. Immediately turn left and after the Schlosser Hof turn right. The hike takes you through an old cattle drive, flanked by wooden fences, up to the Tscharniet Valley. There are tracks of the natural toboggan run on both sides of the path and in the back you are accompanied by the gentle babble of the Tscharniet Brook. Still on path number 47 reach the Köfler Alm at 1808 m above sea level. Cross the brook of the same name on the narrow bridge and finally get to the Stumpfalm after approximately 20 minutes (2000 m; rest point).
