From the head of the valley in St. Magdalena (1465 m), cross the snow-covered meadows to the hamlet of Rotmoos. From there, follow trail no. 53 through the spruce forest to the junction with trail no. 49A. Keep right to reach Messnerhütte (1660 m) and continue to Kradorfer Alm (1704 m). After a refreshment stop, follow the Squirrel Trail no. 49A across open meadows and through the forest. Passing Moos Alm (1477 m), the trail finally leads back to the starting point.
