Description

In the past, goods were smuggled across Kalksteinjöchl 2349 m – today, the pass into the Villgraten Valley in East Tyrol is a popular destination for hikers in summer and ski tourers in winter. After around 820 vertical metres, you reach Kalksteinjöchl. If you want to continue higher, you can climb from here to Gailspitze. The summit cross at 2,494 m is reached after another 140 vertical metres. The rest of the group can use these approximately 30 minutes to rest and enjoy the peaceful winter surroundings. Bring your own provisions.

Meeting point: 08:30 am. at the Head of the valley, St. Magdalena in the Gsiesertal Valley.
